Stratigraphy
Stratigraphy comments: Gauss epoch, Late Pliocene, MN16, Villanyian. There are two localities - Hajnacka I and II, one to the north and one to the south of Hajnacka village. This is the one to the south.
Lithology and environment
Primary lithology: tuff
Lithology description: Hajnacka I/2 is in one of three tuff layers. The micromammal remains were in a small lens amongst the mastodon bones.
Environment:lacustrine indet.
Geology comments: 'The fossils are found in limnic basin fillings with pyroclastic intercalations (tuffs, tuffite, lapilli, agglomerates).'
