Stratigraphy
Stratigraphy comments: Three levels with fauna recorded, the lower gravels (unteren Kiesen), The loam zone (Lehmzone), and the upper gravels (Oberen Kiesen). The lower gravels are the lowest level. The site dates to the Middle Pleistocene and the upper gravels follow the deposits of the Voigtstedt Warmzeit.
Lithology and environment
Taphonomy
Size of fossils:macrofossils
Collection methods and comments
Reason for describing collection:biostratigraphic analysis
Collection method comments: The only fauna from the upper gravels is the Mammoth (Mammuthus trogontherii). The site represents faunal change from M. trogontherii in the lower gravels (= cold stage) to M. meridionalis (Loam zone = warm stage) and back to M. trogontherii.
