Stratigraphy comments: Levels D/E are the fourth to fifth lowest level (site goes up to level Jb). Dated to earliest Middle Pleistocene (overlies the Brunhes/Matuyama boundary). Early Cromerian (zones 1-2), Late Biharian, similar to West Runton upper freshwater bed, Sussenborn, etc.
