Lithology and environment
Primary lithology:gray argillaceous lime mudstone
Secondary lithology: argillaceous,silty lime mudstone
Includes fossils?Y
Lithology description: Section in general: "thin- to medium-bedded lime-mudstone with common brachiopods, colonial corals, and common to abundant angular quartz silt" "thin-bedded, silty, argillaceous lime mudstone" This unit: "Lime mudstone;; thin to medium bedded, nearly lenticular; medium dark grey...moderately indurated, argillaceous, moderately fossiliferous.."
Environment:shallow subtidal indet. Tectonic setting:passive margin
Geology comments: Deposits in this region are of two general kinds: shallow-water stable carbonate platform (generally in the NW part of Arctic Archipelago) and deeper basinal facies (generally to the SE). This collection is in the former.
SEP environmental call based on given info and regional context; this could also be deep subtidal
