Lithology description: Boucot (1999-PBDB ref. 6948, p.576) mentions micrites and sparites.
Environment:open shallow subtidal Tectonic setting:foreland basin
Geology comments: "The lower and upper members represent a supratidal-intertidal mudflat..on the other hand the middle member was mainly subtidal...Tonoloway grades westward into Salina evaporites..."
From Boucot (1999): "Warshauer and Smosna (1977) mention that many of the megafossils are broken, pellets abundant, some shells articulated, variably sorted, with both micrites and sparites present. This community sounds like a moderately high energy, normal turbulence level, normally oxygenated, BA 2 unit, situated between the Leperditiid and Zygobeyrichia-Bolbiprimitia Communities. [It] may grade into BA 1 Dizygopleura-Kloedenia Community as evidenced by some ostracodes shared between the two."
