Lithology description: "Occurs in life assemblages within thin to medium-bedded, gray, dark gray, and black limestone that is commonly argillaceous and bituminous."
Environment:marine indet.
Geology comments: "..distinct evidence of shell transport. In the Urals 80% of specimens in life position...Environment interpreted as soft bottom, clear water, well aerated, although there are some occurrences suggesting quiet water. Community occurs as massive banks and accumulations of varying thickness, parallel to shorelines for great distances, although not always continuous, for many tens of kilometers. Rough water, BA 3."
