Geology comments: Water depth interpreted as >200 m by Hickman (1976, 2003) on the basis of the molluscan fauna, and as bathyal by McDougall (1980) on the basis of benthic foraminifera. Based on data from several sources, water depths of approximately 300 to 450 m are likely for this site (Burns and Mooi 2003).
