Stratigraphy comments: Recently at least 20 King Penguin bones were collected by Oosthuizen and Arthur from the Landing Beach on the Isthmus for DNA analysis; radiocarbon dating of seven of these
bones revealed them to average 1,002 (range 816-1,134) years old (Heupink et al. 2012).
