Lithology description: In this area the Collón Cura Formation is characterized as a sequence with predominance of yellowish, light gray and green tufts, sometimes with intercalations of calcareous sandstones in fine brown benches, banks of gray tufts, friable arcilites, light gray and, to a lesser extent, conglomerate fine, yellow and gray sandstones. The specimens of turtles collected in this locality come from fluvial levels with significant proportions of pyroclastic material and are tentatively correlated with the Lower Section of Bilmes et al. (2014). | |
