Lithology and environment
Primary lithology: mudstone
Secondary lithology: calcareous siltstone
Lithology description: "This comm. occurs in strongly mudstone dominated facies with minor calcareous siltstones or silty limestones."
Environment:marine indet.
Geology comments: "Occurrenced of ball and pillow and otherwise contorted bedding in very thin siltstone beds indicates that the bottom might sometimes have been soupy...transport considered to be of little importance...Silt interbeds with erosive bases are very rare, and a position below wave base is indicated. the comm. occurs in an upwardly shallowing sequence...[it] is assigned to a BA 5 position, extending somewhat into BA 4."
