Lithology description: The base of the upper member is defined by alternating beds of sandstone and siltstone that conformably overlie the Emperador Limestone. The sandstone beds become thinner and finer up-section, whereas the interbeddedcontains transported corals and abundant molluscs. The siltstone beds contain abundant foraminifera, molluscs, echinoids, shark teeth and burrows siltstone beds become thicker.
Environment:fluvial-deltaic indet.
Geology comments: Deltaic. The depositional environments of the upper member of the Culebra Fm. range in depth from shallow subtidal (<5m) to perhaps as deep as the mid-outer shelf (50-100 m).
