Stratigraphy comments: Age after Boessenecker et al., 2019.
Age based on Marsili (2006): The island of Mallorca is characterized by a succession of five depositional siciliclastic macro-sequences, the last of which put in place during the Pliocene (Simo & Ramon, 1986). In the last Pliocene macro-sequences (in Simo & Ramon, 1986) there are two subsequences. The sequence "Son Mir ", crops out in Palma and La Puebla basins and it is dominated by a succession of marine clays, dated to the Early Pliocene (see Alvaro et al. , 1984; Simo & Ramon , 1986). The sequence "Bugeur-St. Jordi " crops out in Cubata de Inca and in Santa Maria, La Puebla and Palma basins, and is characterized by conglomerates and limestones of prograding deltaic environment, dated to the late Pliocene ( Simo & Ramon , 1986).
