Lithology and environment
Primary lithology: | lithified conglomeratic conglomerate |
Secondary lithology: | lithified argillaceous mudstone |
Lithology description: Comprises conglomerate-dominated successions exposed on Pedersen Nunatak and the southern Sobral Peninsula. In the northern Sobral Peninsula, conglomerates, mudstones and sandstones of thePedersen Formation occur in faulted contact with the underlying Nordenskjo¨ ld Formation. The Pedersen Formation is thought to be laterally equivalent to the Lagrelius Point Formation exposed on north-western James Ross Island. | |
