Geology comments: Upper Silesia Basin. The examined samples pertain to the upper part ( 100- 19.2 meters below surhce)of the core, overlaying the Middle Badenian chemical deposits of the Krzyzanowice Formation. Gliwice Formation is a lithostratigraphic unit occurri.g in the Upper Silesia and correqponding to the lower portion of the Machow Formation, from the eastern part of the Fore-Carpathian Depression, referred to the Upper Badenian.
