Stratigraphy comments: "Mantuan Productus Bed"
Assigned to the Echinalosia ovalis brachiopod zone and middle APP5 palynomorph zone by Briggs (1998). Laurie et al. (2016) constrained APP5 to the mid-Wuchiapingian through Changhsingian. Phillips et al. dated an ash bed within the Peawaddy Formation at 255.13 Ma and one from the top of the unit at 254.41 Ma, indicating a late Wuchiapingian age.
