Stratigraphy comments: Uhen & Gingerich (2001) state that this is from the Cross Formation. Geisler et al (2005) place the Cross Formation as a member in the Tupelo Bay Formation. Geisler et al (2005) indicate that the Giant Portland Cement quarry is in the Pregnall Member, and Kier (1980) indicates a similar echinoid fauna (Periarchus lyelli), suggesting that this quarry is from the Pregnall Member as well, making it Priabonian. |
