Stratigraphy
Geological group:Colorado Formation:Niobrara Member:Smoky Hill Chalk
Stratigraphic resolution:bed
Stratigraphy comments: "We were unable to determine the exact stratigraphic level of the ROM specimen within the formation; however, the chalky matrix and the geographical location, as well as the preservation of the bones, suggests that the specimen is likely from the Chalky Member, which is the upper half of the formation. The estimated age for the ROM specimen, based on this assumption, is Santonian to the earliest Campanian (McNeil and Caldwell, 1981)."
