Saurillus obtusus
Taxonomy
Saurillus obtusus was named by Owen (1855). Its type specimen is BMNH R8135 (neotype [Hoffstetter 1967]), a mandible (right mandible), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Feather Bed, Durlston Bay (DB 108), which is in a Berriasian terrestrial horizon in the Lulworth Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was synonymized subjectively with Macellodus brodiei by Delair (1958).
