Taxonomy
Gregaripus bairdi was named by Weems (1987). Its type specimen is USNM 358651, a footprint, and it is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Culpeper Crushed Stone Quarry (upper), which is in a Lacian/Alaunian lacustrine - large siltstone/mudstone in the Bull Run Formation of Virginia.
