It was assigned to Elopomorpha by Forey et al. (2003) and Nelson (2006); to Teleostei by Nolf and Dockery (1993) and Fierstine et al. (2012); to Actinopterygii by Agiadi et al. (2020); and to Elopomorpha by Long (2011), Betancur et al. (2013), Nelson et al. (2016), Ebersole et al. (2019) and Cicimurri et al. (2022).
