Taxonomy
Acrodelphis bakersfieldensis was named by Wilson (1935). Its type specimen is YPM 13406, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Woody, southwest, which is in a Chattian marine sandstone in the Jewett Formation of California.
It was recombined as Argyrocetus bakersfieldensis by Barnes (1977), Uhen et al. (2008) and Lambert et al. (2015).
