Taxonomy
Nucula divaricata was named by Hinds (1843) [DISTRIBUTION: China (Recent). HISTORY: Type species of Acila by subsequent designation (Stolickza, 1871).]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Acila divaricata by Stolickza (1871), Coan et al. (2000) and Squires and Saul (2006); it was recombined as Acila (Acila) divaricata by Huber (2010).
