Taxonomy
Calamagras platyspondyla was named by Holman (1976). Its type specimen is UNSM 04512, a set of vertebrae, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Durnal Ranch Quarry, which is in a Geringian terrestrial horizon in the Gering Formation of Nebraska.
