Mehliella jeffersonensis

Taxonomy
Walteria jeffersonensis was named by Mehl (1931). Its type specimen is A635 V.P. and B635 V.P., U. of Mo. and is a trace fossil. Its type locality is tracksite, 2 miles northwest of Golden, which is in an Albian/Cenomanian coastal sandstone/shale in the Muddy Sandstone Formation of Colorado. It is the type species of Walteria, Mehliella.

It was considered a nomen dubium by Lockley et al. (1992); it was recombined as Mehliella jeffersonensis by Haubold (1971), Thulborn (1990) and Lockley (2010).
