Pelagiarctos thomasi

Taxonomy
Pelagiarctos thomasi was named by Barnes (1988). Its type specimen is LACM 121501, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sharktooth Hill Bonebed, which is in a Langhian terrestrial siltstone in the Temblor Formation of California. It is the type species of Pelagiarctos.
