Orycterocetus crocodilinus

Taxonomy
Orycterocetus crocodilinus was named by Cope (1867) [The type specimen of this taxon is a single tooth.]. Its type specimen is ANSP 9126, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wakefield, west, Zone 12-13, which is in a Langhian estuary/bay claystone in the Calvert Formation of Virginia.

It was synonymized subjectively with Orycterocetus cornutidens by Leidy (1869) and Hay (1902).
