Pterosphenus schucherti

Reptilia - Palaeophiidae

Taxonomy
Pterosphenus schucherti was named by Lucas (1898). Its type specimen is USNM 4047, a set of vertebrae (consists of about 40 vertebrae), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Melvin, southeast of, which is in a Priabonian marginal marine mixed carbonate-siliciclastic in the Yazoo Formation of Alabama. It is the type species of Pterosphenus.
