Taxonomy

Stepanovites was named by Kozur (1975). Its type is Lonchodina festiva.

It was assigned to Ellisoniidae by Burrett (2015) and Wang et al. (2023).

Synonyms

Sweetina was named by Wardlaw and Collinson (1986) [Sepkoski's age data: P Leon-m P Guad-l Sepkoski's reference number: 867]. It is not extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Stepanovites by Ivanov et al. (2020).

It was assigned to Conodontophorida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Ozarkodinina by Donoghue et al. (2008).
Kamagnathus was named by Chernykh et al. (2001).

It was synonymized subjectively with Stepanovites by Kozur and Wardlaw (2010).
