Taxonomy
Trachodontinae was named by Tornier (1913). Its type is Trachodon.

It was replaced with Hadrosaurinae by Lambe (1918), Gilmore (1919), Lambe (1920), Hay (1930) and Riabinin (1930); it was synonymized subjectively with Lambeosaurinae by Sternberg (1936).

It was assigned to Iguanodontidae by Tornier (1913); and to Trachodontidae by Brown (1914), Parks (1920), Nopcsa (1923), Nopcsa (1928), Huene (1934), Huene (1934) and Kuhn (1946).
