Archaeolagus macrocephalus

Taxonomy
Lepus macrocephalus was named by Matthew (1907). Its type locality is AMNH Rosebud 17, which is in a Harrisonian terrestrial horizon in the Rosebud Formation of South Dakota.

It was recombined as Archaeolagus macrocephalus by Matthew (1924), Gazin (1930), Dawson (1958), Macdonald (1963), Macdonald (1970), Green (1972), Gawne (1976) and Dingus (1990).
