Archaeocyon leptodus

Taxonomy
Nothocyon leptodus was named by Schlaikjer (1935). Its type specimen is MCZ 2878, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is North Platte River, which is in an Arikareean terrestrial horizon in the Harrison Formation of Wyoming.

It was recombined as Hesperocyon leptodus by Macdonald (1963) and Macdonald (1970); it was recombined as Archaeocyon leptodus by Wang et al. (1999) and Wang et al. (2008).
