Eucladoceros was named by Falconer (1868) [Entry originally spelt "Eucladocerus."]. It is not extant.

It was reranked as Cervus (Eucladoceros) by Deperet (1897) and Teilhard de Chardin and Piveteau (1930).

It was assigned to Cervus by Deperet (1897) and Teilhard de Chardin and Piveteau (1930); to Cervidae by Carroll (1988); and to Cervini by Grubb (2000).
