Bouromeryx was named by Skinner et al. (1977) [named as subgenus of Barbouromeryx by Frick 1937; raised to genus level]. It is not extant.
It was assigned to Dromomerycidae by Skinner et al. (1977) and Janis and Manning (1998); and to Cranioceratini by Prothero and Liter (2007) and Prothero and Liter (2008).
