Taxonomy
Scolopax guarauna was named by Linnaeus (1762). It is extant.

It was recombined as Plegadis guarauna by Hay (1930), Wetmore (1940) and Miller and DeMay (1942); it was recombined as Aramus guarauna by Wetmore (1956), del Hoyo et al. (2014), Steadman et al. (2015) and Clements et al. (2017).
