Synonyms
  • Purgatorius ceratops was named by Van Valen and Sloan (1965). Its type specimen is U.M. No. V.P.1547, a tooth (right [lower] M?2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Harbicht Hill, which is in a Puercan floodplain horizon in the Hell Creek Formation of Montana.

    It was considered a nomen dubium by Fox (1990); it was considered a nomen dubium by Buckley (1997).
