Brachycarcharias twiggsensis
Taxonomy
Lamna twiggsensis was named by Case (1981). Its type specimen is USNM 32506, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Huber Kaolin Quarry, which is in an Eocene marine claystone in the Jacksonian Formation of Georgia.
It was recombined as Brachycarcharias twiggsensis by Ebersole et al. (2019).
