Taxonomy
Clavella gravida was named by Gabb (1866).

It was recombined as Agasoma gravida by Gabb (1869); it was recombined as Agasoma gravidum by English (1914) and Clark (1918); it was recombined as Bruclarkia gravida by Stewart (1927).
