Holoclemensiidae was named by Aplin and Archer (1987). It is not extant. Its type is Holoclemensia.

It was assigned to Trituberculata by McKenna and Bell (1997); to Boreosphenida by Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004); and to Eutheria by Davis and Cifelli (2011).
