Taxonomy
Tornatina erratica was named by Cooper (1894). Its type specimen is CAS 608 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Seraphs erratica by Hanna (1927); it was recombined as Terebellum (Terebellum) erraticum by Kleinpell and Weaver (1963); it was recombined as Paraseraphs erraticus by Squires (1984), Squires (1987), Squires (1988) and Squires and Demetrion (1992).
