Kadimakara was named by Bartholomai (1979). It is not extant. Its type is Kadimakara australiensis.
It was assigned to Protorosauridae by Chatterjee (1986); and to Prolacertidae by Bartholomai (1979), Benton (1985), Carroll (1988) and Ezcurra (2016).
