Taxonomy
Boreopricea was named by Tatarinov (1978). It is not extant. Its type is Boreopricea funerea. It was considered monophyletic by Benton and Allen (1997).

It was assigned to Prolacertidae by Tatarinov (1978), Benton (1985), Carroll (1988) and Benton and Allen (1997); and to Crocopoda by Ezcurra (2016).

L. P. Tatarinov 1978A small prolacertid with long narrow nostrils, the length of which is half that of the preorbital part of the skull. Nasals rectangular, frontals relatively elongated, 1. 5 times length of nasals. Quadrate with its upper end sharply tilted forward. Cervical vertebrae only slightly longer than dorsal vertebrae. Femur practically straight in plane section.
