Chirodipterus australis
Taxonomy
Chirodipterus australis was named by Miles (1977) [Entopterygoid and prearticular tooth-plates with six ridges which are restricted to the anterolateral half; ridges comprising conjoined denticles, which are still discernible in young specimens; single subopercular bone.]. It is not extant. Its type specimen is BMNH P52584, a partial skeleton (an almost complete skull and lower jaw, and parts of the shouldergirdle and gill-skeleton).
