Griphognathus whitei

Griphognathus whitei was named by Miles (1977) [A species reaching a length of at least 175 mm from the tip of the snout to the posterior margin of bone B; snout rounded and tending to be pointed rather than square cut and with a well-developed preoral area and subnasal ridge; preoral eminences present in well grown individuals; dermal ornament not strongly developed but generally comprising low, separate tubercles with rounded edges.]. It is not extant. Its type specimen is BMNH P50996, a skull (an almost complete skull and lower jaw).
