Costapycnodus costae

Taxonomy
Coelodus costae was named by Heckel (1856). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Capo d'Orlando, Castellammare (MPUN Naples collection), which is in a Barremian marine horizon in Italy. It is the type species of Costapycnodus.

It was corrected as Coelodus costai by D'Erasmo (1914); it was recombined as Costapycnodus costae by Taverne et al. (2019).
