It was assigned to Diaphini by Steurbaut (1979); to Lampanyctinae by Steurbaut (1984); to Myctophiformes by Sepkoski (2002); to Gymnoscopelini by Schwarzhans and Aguilera (2013); to Myctophidae by Nolf and Steurbaut (1983), Stringer (1998), Girone et al. (2006) and Lin et al. (2017); and to Diaphinae by Martin et al. (2018), Schwarzhans and Ohe (2019) and Schwarzhans (2019).
