Viviparus kochanskyae was named by Mandic et al. (2015) [We designate the specimen illustrated by NEUMAYR (1869) as the holotype (Coll. NHM Vienna Inv. No. 1855/0035/0052). Type locality Nova Gradiška [=Cernik] was referred to LVB by NEUMAYR & PAUL (1875).]. Its type specimen is NHM Vienna Inv. No. 1855/0035/0052, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.
