Neocathartes grallator
Taxonomy
Eocathartes grallator was named by Wetmore (1944). Its type specimen is CMNH 9377 , a partial skeleton (skull and postcrania), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Washakie bathornithid, which is in an Uintan fluvial sandstone in the Washakie Formation of Wyoming. It is the type species of Neocathartes.
It was recombined as Neocathartes grallator by Wetmore (1950), Wetmore (1956) and Wetmore (1960).
