It was recombined as Adusta onyx by Cate (1967); it was recombined as Cypraea (Adusta) onyx by Ladd (1977); it was recombined as Erronea onyx by O'Hara (1988); it was recombined as Cypraea (Luponia) onyx by Skwarko (1994); it was recombined as Erronea (Adusta) onyx by Dolin and Lozouet (2004).
