Taxonomy
Pachydiscus jeani was named by de Grossouvre (1894). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Road from Sougraigne to Les Croutets (bancs inferieurs de rudistes), which is in a Santonian carbonate marl in France.
It was recombined as Pachydiscus (Pachydiscus) jeani by Kennedy (1995).
