Taxonomy
Prohyracodon meridionale was named by Chow (1961). Its type specimen is V0046, a maxilla, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kaofenpei, which is in an Eocene terrestrial horizon in the Lumeiyi Formation of China.

  • Prohyracodon progressa was named by Chow (1961). Its type specimen is V0045, a partial skull (Palate), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hsiaoshaho, which is in an Eocene terrestrial horizon in the Lumeiyi Formation of China.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Prohyracodon meridionale by Dashzeveg (1991).
